What You Call A Heart

Of all the mistakes I made

The biggest had to have been

Smiling at you

Opening the door and letting you in

It seemed like harmless fun

Let someone know you're available

Coming inside, unto what you call a heart

Then you take the biggest fall

You fall right off the edge of love

Wind up face first in hurt

You needed so much more

More than I could have prepared for

More than I could ever give

Yet you walked away as if

Nothing about us was important

So I realize it's time to move on

But it doesn't make it any easier

Just because I've had a revelation

It's just a realization that I loved

Yet got nothing back

Gave my love to someone

Who hadn't the capacity to give it back
