You never thought
I’d leave
Get up the courage
to go
Have enough nerve to
say goodbye
To walk out that
door
But I finally did
today
Packed my bags,
clothes squared away
Settled myself in
the car
Backed out the
driveway
Glanced at the house
one last time
Memories dancing
like a fire
The future I thought
I saw
Gone up in smoke
I put the car in
drive
Past Mahogany Avenue
Destination unknown
for now
There weren't even
tears in my eyes
I guess I’d come to
terms
Ages ago, when you
stopped caring
Right about the same
time
I stopped loving you
