Does time ever stop
The sands freezing,
momentarily
Giving one a chance
to pause
Take a minute,
gather thoughts
Think about the path
The current route
Is it the right one
The course that will
lead
To happiness or to
heartbreak
Do we ever get a
chance
Or do we just enjoy
the ride
Thankful for the fun
Loathing the pain
Taking snapshots to
remember
Try to avoid
anything unpleasant
Yet revel in the
glory
Of the spectacular
moments
But I guess we don't
get the chance
We don't have the
power
Just the will to do
it differently
For the next time,
not a do over
More a lesson truly
learned
